Food Doesn't Have To Be The Enemy

Do you ever feel like food is driving you absolutely crazy?

Do you feel like you're constantly starting a new diet or trying to lose weight, with no results?

Do you feel ashamed over the way your body looks and feel like you will never be happy with your appearance?

Or, perhaps you have lost weight and now feel an overwhelming sense of worry about maintaining your new figure?

If food seems like the enemy and you feel like you're losing the battle, you've come to the right place.

I've been there.

I'm Valery, a registered dietitian, intuitive eating coach, and recovered disordered eater. For many years, I struggled with restrictive dieting, binge eating, and extreme body shame. Instead of consuming food for health and enjoyment, food and body image thoughts consumed my entire life. After years of weight loss ups and downs, trying every diet you can imagine, and struggling with poor body image, I finally decided to try a new approach.

I quit.

I quit trying to control food and in the process, food lost its control over me.

Since then, I have made it my life's mission to help other women feel confident about their food choices, their eating habits, and their beautiful bodies - regardless of their weight. Together, we set transformative goals that specifically target the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors associated with food intake and body image, while also developing meal strategies that nourish both mind + body.

Using my unique counseling approach Body Positive Nutrition Therapy, I help my clients:

  • end the destructive cycle of dieting (restriction) and overeating (bingeing)
  • stop feeling guilt or shame around their eating habits
  • develop coping skills to deal with emotional or mindless eating
  • learn how to eat intuitively (mindfully) by appreciating your body's hunger and fullness cues
  • finally make peace with your food and your body

I know what it feels like to wake up every day feeling ashamed about your body, dreading mealtimes, and even avoiding social situations because you feel so out of control when it comes to eating. I want you to know that it does NOT have to be this way. Let's work together to take back control of your life, your eating, and your body.
