If this sounds like you, we are here to help you make sense of it all, providing evidence-based information and a weight-neutral approach that promotes holistic health without restrictive measures.

We firmly believe that being healthy doesn't equate to deprivation or extreme diets. You don't need to follow rigid rules to achieve well-being. If eating has become a source of stress and complication, we're here to guide you in simplifying your relationship with food. Our approach combines the power of both nutrition and psychology, empowering you with coping skills and insights to heal from within.

When individuals embark on the journey to heal from disordered eating, they often discover a newfound sense of freedom and empowerment. As the burden of disordered eating diminishes, they find themselves liberated to focus on other aspects of life that are important to them. Recovery is not just about mending one's relationship with food; it's about reclaiming the ability to live life to the fullest without the constraints of disordered thoughts and behaviors. At our practice, we are dedicated to supporting you on this transformative path toward recovery and the freedom it brings.

let’s heal your relationship with food, together

IN SESSIONS, WE MAY WORK ON THE FOLLOWING AREAS

INTUITIVE EATING

Encouraging clients to ditch diet culture, make food choices based on internal signals rather than external rules, explore joyful movement, learn to cope with emotions with kindness, and honor their health with gentle nutrition

MEAL PLANNING

Collaboratively creating meal plans that align with individual preferences, ensuring clients have satisfying and nourishing meals that are nutritionally adequate and help them meet their health goals.

JOYFUL MOVEMENT

Encouraging joyful and enjoyable movement rather than exercise solely for weight control, and supporting clients in finding movement that suits their interests and abilities.

EATING DISORDER RECOVERY

Providing specialized support for clients on the path to recovery from eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, or other specified feeding or eating disorders.

BODY NEUTRALITY

Fostering a neutral or positive body image, working on self-compassion, and discouraging weight-based self-worth. Learning that you don’t have to love your body in order to take care of it and treat it with kindness.

MEAL CHALLENGES

Gradually introducing foods that clients may have previously labeled as "forbidden" or fear foods, helping them confront and overcome food fears. Let’s make eating enjoyable and stress-free.

CHRONIC HEALTH CONDITIONS

Developing sustainable, long-term solutions for chronic conditions like diabetes, PCOS, IBS, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and celiac disease - without unnecessarily restrictive protocols and diets.

NUTRITION EDUCATION

Providing balanced and evidence-based nutrition education, emphasizing that all foods can fit within a healthy eating pattern and that no foods are inherently "good" or "bad."

REJECTING DIET CULTURE

Assisting clients in recognizing and challenging diet culture beliefs, rejecting forms of systemic oppression, promoting body acceptance, and fostering a positive self-image.

THIS ALL SOUNDS GREAT, BUT WHAT IF I STILL WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT?

We understand that the desire for weight loss is a common and completely understandable response to the pervasive weight stigma prevalent in our society. We want to acknowledge these feelings and ensure that they are heard and respected. However, in our commitment to helping you transform your relationship with food, we recommend pressing pause on active weight loss efforts. Instead, we focus on promoting a more sustainable, evidence-based, and compassionate approach to health. Our goal is to help you build a positive connection with your body and food, prioritizing well-being over numbers on a scale. While we may not encourage active weight loss, we are here to discuss and unpack your thoughts and feelings about this, allowing you to explore alternative paths to health and happiness that don't rely solely on weight.
